…اگر میں عمران خان ہوتا

Posted by Knonie

“Yahan inqalaab karna manaa hai” – Visual expressions

Inspired by the local graffiti in Urdu, telling the public how to behave, and thus taking part in revolutionizing the psyche of the masses. How lovely it looks when we hang the beautiful patterns of such social revolution on our walls…

Pre-dream meeting

Posted by Knonie

Before I sleep, these are few points I want you to consider…

Remember my friend, that books don’t make you wise. Do not think that knowledge is wisdom. Books help you sharpen your vision, but most people go blind. So, please be very careful with books. And do not think that books have everything. Learn to understand what is not written.

Instead, learn from everything… everything that holds you and everything-else together. Learn from nature and people. Remember that in order to learn, one must unlearn. Forget what your elders told you about God and religions, forget what your mates told you about sex, forget that love is how they show in movies, forget the value of money. Forget everything you think you know, but in reality you don’t know but somebody just told you that. Learn to use your own powers to learn everything all over again. Use your powers of thinking, intuition and imagination, and all the secrets will start revealing.

Deny everything. Truth is often hidden in denial. Discover the answers. Believe without fear, for when you believe without fear, you get peace. You can even deny me because if you cannot deny, you cannot believe. Remember that fear is the enemy of truth. You need to believe in yourself and keep moving on.

Now, you may go, but you are never alone, because you carry a part of me in you just like I have a part of you in me. Remember that love is the greatest power in the world, but you need to discover the power yourself. Your powers become stronger when you use them. The more you love, the more you’ll discover about love…

Goodnight, Good luck and Goodbye!

Story behind the photo of an Ant, and the lessons learned…

Posted by Knonie

See this photo– an ant holding something in its mouth, apparently in the dark with a spotlight highlighting it. Let me tell you the little story behind this shot…

Ant working at night. Photo ©Knonie

One night I was having a walk on my terrace with a cigarette lighter in my hand that has a tiny flashlight. While moving the light on the terrace floor, I noticed a big ant, which on close observation, appeared to be struggling with something stuck on the floor. That was something round, grain like particle and the ant was trying very hard to detach it from the floor. Watching that interesting site, I brought my camera from indoors, and using the light from torch of cigarette-lighter, I made a spot light fixed over ant so that I could take some photos in otherwise complete darkness. After around 5 minutes of my observing it, the ant managed to detach that piece of food from the floor, and while holding it, it started moving quickly in some specific direction. This photo is taken during that moment.

That Ant was now gone…

That little event stirred my mind. I started thinking why this ant was struggling so much to get that food even if its quite late at night. Why doesn’t that ant left that food here, because ants don’t live alone and it won’t make much difference if one of them doesn’t work. In fact, no Boss-Ant was monitoring it, so that ant can simply leave that food here instead of taking it to their nest where all the rest will share it. When the ant got such big amount of food, it didn’t start eating it alone before other ants find it. Struggling so much for that will not earn any special increment or award, then why it still worked like that all alone…? Thinking about such questions made me realise how organised these tiny creatures are…

These creatures are not selfish, which means they understand the concept of Unity. Everyone in their community believes that he/she/it is a part of this entire system, and they need to perform their duties unconditionally, no matter if someone else is watching or not. They are not selfish and greedy, as even if they find a mountain size sugar pile, they will not just leave their community behind and start eating it alone. They never cut themselves off from their community. That very concept seems missing from Human Society, or is present rarely.

As Benjamin Franklin has written in Poor Richard’s Almanack [July 1736]

“None preaches better than the ant, and she says nothing.”

That’s one of the biggest lessons of life. Ants don’t say things, they only “do” what is required to do, and that’s the highest form of preaching, i.e. providing a practical example instead of just talking. We can learn Unity, Discipline and Unselfishness from this tiny creature we hardly notice everyday around.

Private Property: Do Not Cross! – An illustrated short-story

Posted by Knonie
I wrote this short story in November 2010. It’s somewhat incomplete but I didn’t feel like completing it so I’m sharing it here. I designed some images to go with this story, which are also shared below.

I am a small bird. I’m not a small bird. I’m a fully grownup bird, but for you I’m a small bird. For me, Humans are so big, so big and so different from each other. I wanted to see what they do all day, how they gather food, how they live in safe places, and all the other things I cannot do. So I flew, leaving my nest, towards a city of Humans.

Collection of Orkut Testimonials I have written to my friends in 2004-2006

Posted by Knonie

Dushman har koi--Sajjan koi koi. [So many enemies-- So fewer friends]Back during 2004-2006, I used Orkut, one of the social networking communities, and had a wonderful social networking experience. During that I even come to know many new nice people. Orkut profiles offered a place where friends can write testimonials about you.

Followed here are the testimonials I have written to my friends during that time. Read below and you’ll see how nice friends I have. It also tells a bit about my personality…

AmmO: (2/4/2006)

My Little Sis… My Childhood friend… Bachpan ki dost.

We talk a lot, discuss a lot, and share a lot. Ghar mein sab say ziada mairi issi say tou banti hai. We even use each other’s jackets and tops.

We converse about Books, Music, Movies, Psychology, Philosophy, Government, Culture, Behaviours, Trends, Medical, Science, Arts, Technology, Boys & Girls… and what not!

She’s a nice person… Peaceful at heart… Sensible, Sincere and a bit naively Innocent.

She’s imaginative as well as pragmatic in her approach towards life.

Always wishing her the best of everything!
🙂

Love You!

Shuja Ahmad: (2/10/2006)

Shuja is one of the loveliest people I know.

My little friend…
My Rocky…
My younger brother…
My cute cuddly teddy…

I sometimes complain why God has sent me on Earth so many years earlier, otherwise, we both must be sharing PS2, talking about our favourite wrestling stars, or simply playing with pet doggies. Even having some considerable age difference, he’s a great companion. He shares so many things with me… we discuss about various stuff and enjoy a lot.

We both like Chocolates & Sweets; we both don’t like Pokémon… that’s why, we both are cool!!!

I really love his way of talking… so sweet. His innocent ways and straight-forward style of saying things is another trait I admire. This person really makes me happy. Sometimes he laughs, in fact, laughs out loud at some little joke I crack, and that’s the best part.

And in the end, a prayer that may God always keep you in His special protection, and may you always smile!!!

Fawad Raza: (7/8/2006)

My sweet cousin…

Soft natured, friendly attitude… A loving person.

Being my family member, I know him quite closely. We were good friends when we were young, but now, we are buddies.

This person is full of fun… always having interesting stories to share.

And yes, he’s a music freak. His choice is superb… great classical Rock… Continue reading

“Tere gham ko jaan ki talash thi”, Ghazal by Faiz sung by Knonie

Posted by Knonie

Check the embedded video to listen to the track in my voice. I recited that ghazal without any music. Recorded on MacBook using a Sony microphone.

I asked a friend to help me out translating it. Although it’s almost impossible to produce the same feel of a piece of writing in another language while translating and it is such a skillful art, but presented below is the [loose] English translation of this ghazal of Faiz. It is done by my intelligent friend Bolongo Katayama.

English Translation:

Your sorrow needed blood to nurture, (alas!) your sacrificial enthusiasts have left. Those who were longing for their turn, (alas!) they were swept away by the time’s tide.

After being defeated by your deafening apathy, (alas!) the night of longing elapsed. At my dogged determination, all my sympathizers left.

There left no question of blissful communion, nor the renditions of sorrow, neither tales nor complaints. In your reign, all the rights of bemoaning heart subsided.

It was me who was cloaked in the robe of accusation. But proudly wearing those scars I reached the counsel of my beloved.

The passions of love and fidelity no longer exist; what would you do of gallows and chains then? Those who hailed the vice of love, (alas!) those transgressors have left.

The Power of Belief and the secret of Happy Relationships

Posted by Knonie

Flower

Complaining attracts more reasons to complain, and finally you end up being annoyed, because the other person looks unbearable to you. Appreciation and hope opens a way to more reasons to be hopeful and appreciating.

I used to complain the negligence and rudeness of my friends, and I realised that my relations became weak. They also started avoiding me because they knew I will complain. Then I tried the being grateful” method. I remained thankful for whatever the other person gave me. I believed it is pure love that’s been showered upon me. I tried the power of belief and trust. When you really believe and feel something to be true, it happens.

“Pretension Soup”—Some poetic expressions

Posted by Knonie

Below is something I once wrote
for myself…

Pretension Soup

Let’s pretend that we are not gays and organic,
And our wings are not meant for flying.
Let’s pretend we’re not naked underneath our clothes,
And we are not at all afraid of dying.

Let’s keep pretending that we’re not abnormals,
But the world is affected by global warming.
Pretend that private acts do not follow any morals.
And our souls do not burn any fire within.

Pretend that the scars on our wrists are not gross,
And the pictures we take will never let the time go.
Let’s pretend that we can be wise without experiences,
And eating eggs is not against animal rights, you know.

Pretend that the women are not stronger than the male,
And our glorious history is not composed of fictions.
Pretend that the rains that fall are not natural.
And those who build the world are not the Masons.

Let’s pretend that we still need more modern weapons
To blow off the Planet and to kill all the people.
Let’s keep pretending that Satan is not just an idea.
And let’s keep pretending that a rose is not a rose.

Let’s pretend that love is not an illusion,
And after being in love, pretend that illusion is not everything.
Let’s pretend that we do not exist, in any dimension,
And let’s pretend that we’re not sleeping.

Kuch tou loug kahain gay, Kishore’s song sung by Knonie

Posted by Knonie

I love music, I love singing, and most of the times I sing to myself, apart from singing among friends circle sometimes. Lately, I recorded my vocals using a karaoke track [digital music of the song without vocals]. I was only doing some recording check, so I thought I should share it with others. It’s a raw version, and only a short clip of the audio song.

For those who don’t know, this song is originally sung by Kishore Kumar, for the movie “Amar Prem“, and it is composed by S.D Burman.

Knonie is back to blogging, after a buggy break

Posted by Knonie

After a break of around 2 weeks, I’m finally here… Back here…
Actually when I logged in to my Blog Admin, I found some bug, so I wasn’t able to post any new stuff…

Elizabeth Taylor passed away and I wanted to write about her, and then a few other things came up and I wanted to write it. I should’ve written those documents and should’ve posted them once the blog is working fine, but I was being too lazy…
And today I logged in and everything was working fine…

I wanted to write and express so much these days… I feel so refreshed and mentally charged, as if I need to do some serious work. I have observed that my vision and comprehension is improved… Like I have understood many secrets of this life and other things around… So much to talk about, so much to elaborate, so much to write… Sometimes I think it’s good to write as it transfers the knowledge and builds the intelligence level of the next generations or others, but sometimes even this very things feels like “WHY?” Why should we awake those who are asleep, as everyone wants to live their life their way so let them do it. Everyone cannot understand the Truth…

Anyways, I’ll start writing again, and will try to finish some other projects I’ve been lazily working on since many months…

Let me tell you who you are to me – A Personal Letter

Posted by Knonie

I Love Me - Knonie

When I first communicated with you, it was very comfortable. I felt that this is the person who can understand my thoughts and speak in the same language. Talking about all that idealism and love and mysticism with you, that was too good. And then you wished that conversation never end. I wished the same.

It was good to find someone who has time to talk about the concept of Love, God, Creation, and so much more. A person who has more things to talk about rather than just careers, women and commercial songs. I started believing in everything you said. I never thought they are only words. I found peace and light in your words, and I told you that. It’s correct, as you said, that I also know so many things, but still, I’m not perfect. In your presence I learned many things. I learned that these things are real, the love Rumi talked about is not just words, but that is Real.

Then, you said I’m one of those people who have the key to your heart– I was surprised by this statement. I started feeling myself even closer to you. You asked me to come with you, fly with you, be you, be one… I trusted your words… I fell in love with your inner Self…

Those few days during which we communicated, were the days I remained intoxicated in you…

I’m all full of scars. I told you I’m brokenhearted and I’m fed up of this world full of lies. I told you I’m weak and I want to fly, but my wings are broken. I am a weary and tired traveller, who came to your door for help, because fate sent me to you. I am a bird, who cannot fly because its wings are damaged. You picked me up from your door, told me that I can be all right. You will mend my wings, you will teach me how to fly and you will keep me with you. That made me confident and happy… And then last night you said you are not the person who can help me. Go back to the world who has broken your wings. Go back to the storms that are waiting for you. Survive or die, but I cannot help you because I’m not the one you are looking for. I’m sorry. And after that, you threw me away from your door…

For the first time in my life, I thought I’m closer to the truth…
I still believe it’s not an illusion…
I still love you…
I will always love you…
