Little slender and scaly lizard

Posted by Knonie

I found this slender lizard sort of creature among grass and shrubs. That looked a bit like a baby Chameleon. It even let me take its photos from close. On further researching it on net, I found it that it’s categorized under sub-order Iguana, under Scaled-Reptiles order called “Squamata” of Reptiles. It’s known as Peruvian lizard, lizard of the beaches, or Microlophus peruvianus. Although the habitat doesn’t match much, but visually it’s quite similar to that species.
